Introduction

   Having taken as much of my sweet-ass time as I possibly could beforehand, I have finally gotten around to starting this blog I had an idea for about two weeks ago, to absolutely no fanfare whatsoever! I should probably just make this a dumping ground for all of the inane garbage that floats, caught by the errant wind, through my empty head, but then I'd have to stop making that monthly payment to Microsoft for their Office program, and I would be foolish to waste an opportunity to be an idiot with money. I turned 28 yesterday and I have just over that much left in my bank account. So, basically, I'm walking compost, just mulch waiting to happen.

   But enough about me. This blog is not going to be a journal of my day-to-day life, though I may make mention of it as it may relate to whatever the hell it is I'm going on about. The primary purpose of this blog is to post stories that I write with the assistant of Seventh Sanctum's writing challenge generator (https://www.seventhsanctum.com/generate.php?Genname=writechallenge). This is a way for me to re-engage with a creative outlet that I have severely neglected as of late due to my sedentary lifestyle. It's hard to find inspiration staring at the same bland white walls every single day. I find that sometimes I perform well when I have certain guidelines and restrictions I have to follow.

   I will post a short story of anywhere from 1,000 to 7,500 words every Saturday. In between those, I'll probably write about whatever crap I feel like. I harbor no illusions that this thing is going to be read by anybody outside of a smattering of people who happen across the link or have the link shared to them and bother to click on it. I'd love it if I could get some sort of readership, and I'm going to try and post every day, but I find that I'm not always great about maintaining and engaging with an audience. I'm a starter of many a failed venture, for example, a YouTube gaming channel that's been up for almost three years and has a whopping 179 subscribers. I very occasionally write fanfiction under the name nedthejanitor on ff.net, but in the last few years uploads there have been sparse.

   Other topics I may choose to post about could include songs I've been listening to, thoughts on movies, or games I've been playing (I actually have a post coming up in the near future about cookie clicker that I wrote just spur of the moment). I may post a link to a new song I've written, and if I do, I'll write some stuff about it as well. Mostly this is just to give me something to do while I try to sort out things in my personal life, maybe a chance to connect with a few others, or maybe I just want to scream into the void so I can hear my own echo. One subject I might wind up getting on is politics, and that worries me, because discourse has become so befouled in the last ten years it's impossible to have a goddamn opinion on anything without someone else getting angry about it. I feel passionate about a lot of issues, and I can't promise I'll always be polite about things, so bear with me.

   I guess this will serve as a decent enough introductory post. Again, I'm gonna post some BS or another every day. Maybe someone besides me will read it, that remains to be seen.
